Welcome back! I took some time off for the holidays. Though I never stopped thinking about you all. I'm glad to be writing here again.
The last month was exhausting. It foreshadowed the year to come. Though we are only on day five of the New Year I am working like crazy.
Decemeber was mainly spent editing and shopping and editing some more. When I wasn't focusing on spending money or trying to improve my ms I still found ways to keep busy. The renovations on my office were completed -minus a little trim work. I baked peanut butter blossoms, chocolate chip and rainbow chip cookies, and eight dozen cupcakes. They were all gone in a week. What can I say: four kids and lots of close family members. The best part was that they didn't even mind the burnt bottoms. Its a new stove, I'm still figuring out all the kinks. All in all it was a great time with lots of smiles and happy kiddies.
I spent New Year's Eve home for the first time in three years. We brought in 2011 by playing golf on the PS3 and finished in time to watch the ball drop. Mark and I kissed. He is so sweet. The three years prior to this were spent at work. Two words express my true feelings about not having to work that night: LOVED IT!
The past few days have been spent reading two things: J. R. Ward's COVET (This fabulous story hooked me from the Prologue. Though there were some parts that jarred me as a reader and hurt me as a writer, I was absolutely hooked and chalked those parts up to voice because they worked.) and the script for a short film I signed on to do with Mike & Ike, SKELETONS. That's right, on top of working on my books I am reaching deep into my bag o' tricks to act again. After I read the script I wanted to vomit. It isn't gory, but it messed with my head...a lot. I read it again. Now I cannot wait till we shoot it.
There is something in the air that tells me this is going to a rockin' year. I can feel it in my bones. *keeping fingers crossed -unless they're typing, duh*
