Shadow Faith Universe: The Ubilazian Order -Take Faith in the First Evil

The youngest vampire sect is the Ubilazian Order. This family construct was inspired by the triumphant works of Martin Luther against the Roman Catholic Church. How does Martin Luther fit into this? His rise against the Catholic Church was a slap in the face to The Cabal Ministry. It opened young vampires to a new path. Constricted by the belief that God no longer listened to prayers of those damned as harshly as themselves they took to Martin Luther’s words like a moth to the flame. For instance: "If you are a preacher of Grace, then preach a true, not a fictitious grace; if grace is true, you must bear a true and not a fictitious sin. God does not save people who are only fictitious sinners. Be a sinner and sin boldly, but believe and rejoice in Christ even more boldly. For he is victorious over sin, death, and the world. As long as we are here we have to sin. This life in not the dwelling place of righteousness but, as Peter says, we look for a new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. . . . Pray boldly-you too are a mighty sinner." (Weimar ed. vol. 2, p. 371; Letters I, "Luther's Works," American Ed., Vol 48. p. 281- 282)

These vampires believe that the only way to live is to embrace their sin. Their faith has matured into a belief of a “First Evil”. This is far from believing in Satan. No, the First Evil is like God, it is a part of who we are. And being vampires makes the First Evil that much stronger a force within them.

(Rumor has it Martin Luther turned down the offer to walk eternally with the vampires he inspired. He claimed his time on earth had passed and that he longed for a new home with Jesus. Still, a quick whisper from eager vamps spread sightings of him to this day.)

Of course the Cabal Ministry did not take kindly to this new uprising. This strife led to the many Inquisitions. They started with attacks on small Ubilazian conclaves, then spread to the full-blown witch hunts noted in history books because woman spoke up for the poor souls the Catholic Church obliterated.

Thanks to support for religious freedom from the mortal society the Order survived. They buried themselves within Protestant organizations throughout Europe and eventually the New World. In North America the Order thrived on new governments, bigger dreams and plenty of space for all.

Today conclaves function like any other family unit. The eldest of any given bloodline reigns supreme over a territory. Beneath them are their children and their children’s children. Each House member learns to embrace the Evil within them with acts of unconditional love, excessive feedings and powerful conquests. This is in hope that one day their faith will manifest the First Evil. Thus bringing Heaven to Earth.
