"When life gives you lemons make lemonade." If this truly was the case then I do believe I will be making a batch big even to quench the thirst of every person in a football stadium.
In a previous post I announced the release of Birth of a Vixen for December 3rd,. Unfortunately, last Friday the universe through a monkey wrench in that plan. Driving down the highway, while traveling roughly 60 miles an hour, my new car decided it was time to take a dance lesson. The entire far right lane was coated in snowy slush. I slowed down and tried to maneuver into the middle lane to avoid an accident. Too late. The back tires slid to the right, slid to the left and every nerve in my body yelled, "FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!" And I did a 360 degree turn over the on ramp and collided into the guard rail. Not once. Not twice. But three times.
I just got word from the insurance company that yes, the car I only made one payment to is indeed totaled. I snagged a couple pictures while it was on the flatbed.
Here is the front:
Thankfully, I was alone. I have slight compression fractures in my back from getting slammed around. All in all I'm okay. Physically. Mentally, well, that has always been in question.
Which brings me to sad but hopeful news. Birth of a Vixen obviously did not get released yesterday. When I was supposed to be finishing the last of the formatting I was going to various doctor appointments and the rental car company (which is a whole other story) and body shops. It's been a wicked week.
So you might be thinking, 'Great, Colleen, I'm glad you're okay, but where's my stinkin' lemonade!?!'
The book is formatted. The cover is done. Shadow Faith series' book one: Birth of a Vixen will be available on Kindle Monday December 8th! FREE for the holiday season and as my way of apologizing to all you who have waited so long for its launch. Again, I am sorry that I was not able to have it up on time.
I'm so sorry to hear about your totalled car, but I'll be looking forward to checking out your book on Monday.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! It takes a LOT of hard work to get to this place.
Thank you, Lydia. I can't let a car accident years of work. That would be more devastating than the original loss.
DeleteDon't apologize for being injured! So glad you're all right. Hang in there, get better and I can't wait for Monday!
ReplyDeleteThanks E J! I'm so excited I can't sit still. Sure it hinders healing, but I can't help it. My kids laughed at me as I happy danced out of the room while repeating, "Ow. Ow. Ow." lol
